The night before Jesus was sacrificed for us, He sat at a table with his intimate friends, and Scriptures tell us that He said: "Long have I desired to share this meal with you."
Over the past years in a seminarian's formation, one could feel in a very profound way a longing within the heart of God to lead him to sacrifice his life in union with His Son in the Holy sacrifice of the Mass.
Tears have become a part of a seminarian's everyday life as he prays for realization of that union. Ever humbled by his own human person in the face of so great an Office, yet he may never be deterred, never second-guessing his self, because he has the confidence that the ONE who began this work in him will bring it to fulfillment in a very mysterious way. As Psalm 113 says: "This is the work of the Lord, and it is marvelous in our sight."
