Some of us live by our shadows. Some of us live by the shadows of our flesh and this is why we are not happy and we are not at peace.
The shadows would be what St. Paul calls lewd conduct, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, bickering,, jealousy, outbursts of rage, selfish rivalry, and dissensions. These are the sins of the flesh.
On the other hand, some of us live by the echoes of the past. Our hearts continue to cling to what has been there in the past. We just echo and echo and echo. If you analyze what an echo is, it is nothing!
St. Paul and the Lord invite us, not to simply live by the shadows of the flesh, not to simply live by the echoes of the past or by the echoes of social, economic and political structures.
For whom do you live? By whom do you live? By your echo? By your shadow? By yourself? Or by the Spirit?
