Life is not simply a matter of self-determination. We soon discover that what we think is the best or important which constitutes a very limited perspective. Therefore, we need to seek an advice and be open for the input of others. Our ideas need to be formed within the context of consultation.
The growth of spirituality is also not simply a matter of self-effort. It is a matter of communion. It is drawing on the wisdom of others who have walked the road of spiritual growth and of learning from Spirit within. Spirituality blossoms not simply from self-effort, but also from being led. It has to do with surrender, and with hearing things that we have not thought of and which may even cut across previous aspirations or expectations.
This brings us to the very heart of spirituality and to the significance of prayer and meditation. Spirituality has to do with personal development and fulfilment.
