Believing

What happened Lord? It's a common question, isn't it? My brother set out to get a new job, he work hard for it, he go through the interview process, he did his very best, and in his heart he believe this is the job God wants him to have. Then suddenly someone else gets the job. I knew how he felt.

Believing it to be the will of God. Deep in our hearts we know God has a plan for us.Please believe, don't debate that; it's not a theological issue . We know that we weren't put on the earth to grope blindly through the darkness. Nevertheless, that's the way life feels sometimes.

Missing a loved one

It has been 5 years now since my grandfather died, But we still miss him and wish he was still around...Life is not the same without him around, we need his counsel in times of crisis or wish we could share with him the joy in moments of triumph and sadness in times of failures.

Sometimes, I still would imagine that he is just beside me and he gives me his sound advices...Well, I guess the pain has never really left me. I know that time heals all wounds but the pain will never really go. But life must go on.

Somehow I know he is just around, guiding me in the life that I chose to have.

Value of prayer

Have you ever prayed so hard and pleaded to God with all your heart? Oftentimes, we bargain with God, we plead, offer sacrifices and good works, do everything just to give what we have asked for. But then sometimes, we fail to get an answer from Him. "Why could He not give me this one special favor?"

God knows what is best for us. Yes, sometimes He does not answer our prayers but what is most important is that we know that there is Someone whom we pray to, and that, in itself, is the value of prayer....

To be humble

To be humble is to recognize gratefully our dependence on the Lord—to understand that we have constant need for His support. Humility is an acknowledgment that our talents and abilities are gifts from God. It is not a sign of weakness, timidity, or fear; it is an indication that we know where our true strength lies. We can be both humble and fearless. We can be both humble and courageous.

pride

Pride is a lofty view of one's self or one's own. Pride often manifests itself as a high opinion of one's nation (national pride), ethnicity (ethnic pride), or appearance and abilities (vanity). Pride is considered a negative attribute by most major world religions, but some philosophies consider it positive. The opposite of pride is humility.

However, Pride is only a sin when it is in defiance of God. A little pride is not an evil thing.

learn to respect

Respect is simply an accepting of what another does as good, or at least not bad relative to ones own ideas, beliefs, and prejudices. Self respect is the same.... that is, one respects oneself when one is experiencing oneself not in conflict with ones beliefs regarding what is good and proper.

It is treating someone the way you would wish to be treated.

His wisdom

Most of the time, we reject God's will for us and opt for what we think is best for ourselves. And often, what we think is best for ourselves is externally logical and rather obvious, not seeing the wisdom that underlies God's path for us.

We need to see the fundamental need to discern God's will for us in each junction of our lives. At times, His will for us is simply and overtly logical and straight forward. Other times, however, His will is clothed with ambiguous signs or even apparent suffering. In each of these instances, we need to find His wisdom.

slow down to pray

We were driving home along in our way to Bicol when all of a sudden, we found ourselves enveloped in a thick and heavy smoke caused by a bonfire. For the next few seconds, there were nothing we could see up ahead. Indeed that was a time to still. We just slowed down and prayed that we do not hit the car ahead of us or the car behind us will not hit us. We made sure that we stayed in our lane.

I guess it's the same in life, when you are not sure when or where you are going, just pray and slow down.

The joy of a child

My heart melts whenever I see a little boy or girl carrying an infant or toddler in his or her arm. It is very touching sight to see children take care of their brother or sister because no one look after them ... Every child needs to be care of, enjoy their youth and give them a chance to live their life to the fullest.

fingers ..a way to pray

I heard about the use of fingers in order to pray....The thumb is the finger closest to our hearts, reminding us to pray for our families and loved ones. The pointing fingers remind us to pray for those who point and lead us. The middle finger is the biggest finger reminding us to pray for our leaders and those who govern us. The ring finger is the weakest finger, reminding us to pray for those who are weak, the poor , the lost and the sinners. Finally, the small fingers remind us to pray for the children and all the little ones.

Prayers change things

God actually hear our prayers -- and I want to assure everyone that He does. The reason is because He loves us and wants what is best for us.

He always answers our prayers, not in the way we think He should? The reason is because He sees the whole picture, while we see only a part. We think we know what would be best for us -- and sometimes we do. But sometimes God knows that what we're asking for isn't what we really need; it may even be harmful for us. And because He loves us, He sometimes says "No" to our demands.

This is why we must always seek God's will when we pray. Yes, bring your requests to God, and share your burdens with Him. But above all, pray for His will to be done in your life.

Prayers change things when we truly seek God's will. Sometimes He changes the situation, and it isn't wrong to pray that He will. But sometimes He changes us, strengthening us from within and increasing our faith so we'll get through life's hard times.

Put Christ and His will first in our life, and then trust God to go before us and show us His will.

See God in the middle of the storm

We all experience storms in our lives. We must not be surprised that this life is a continual struggle. Temptation, failure, difficulties, trials, and tribulations are a normal part of our earthly existence. To seek an easy and comfortable life without the challenge of difficulties is not realistic.

Many times people think that God is unfair, so they stop going to church and stop praying altogether. They seem to think that being religious is a ticket to a life free of any problems at all.

God never said that this life would be easy. However, through his cross, Jesus gives meaning to suffering and his grace gives us the power to overcome the challenges of life. He is our closest friend, our deepest Love.

Disobey "a separation from God"

God created us in His own image so we can know Him personally and have a joy-filled life. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him, but gave us a will and a freedom of choice. Since the beginning of time, we have chosen to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God and ends in misery.

The Bible says that disobeying God results in being separated from Him. Our attempts can never unite us with God. Through the ages, people have tried many ways to bridge this gap and reach God -- without success.

Always

Always means, perpetually, forever, ceasesly, constantly, continually, eternally, ever , forever.

Jesus said "I am with you always".

I hope I can convince everyone not to worry about anything.

Blessings

They say that when God closes His door, somewhere in His House, He opens the window. Am I right? Do I make sense? I hope so.
But what if the door is closed and the window is closed?
Do you know What Our God will do?

"God will open the roof so that His blessings will continue to flow and overflow!!!"....
I hope that this world will get convince that God is always with us .

letting go

If we have so many goodbyes in our lifetime, the greatest goodbye we commonly fear is death. Death is the big 'letting go', and a big 'letting God'.
Inspite of the pains of losing a loved one, we must continue to live and go on loving.
We must accept that in the end, the people we hold so dear to us belong to GOD and not to us.

In the end, there are only three things that matter:
how fully we lived...

how deeply we loved...

and how well we learned to let go of things not meant for us.

the question...

It's been awhile since I last posted an update here. Please bear with my long silence.

Listening to the gospel account of Mark 11:28, we can actually re-name it as “The cutter is cut, the questioner is questioned”.

Questions are a vital part of our day-to-day life. But we have so many reasons for asking questions.

Some people ask questions in order to be informed. On the other hand, some people ask questions in order to harass.

Some people ask questions in order to show that they are more intelligent than others.

Some people ask questions in order to learn.

Some people ask questions in order to express suspicion.

Some people ask questions in order to build up and stimulate an issue.

Some people ask questions in order to destroy.

We can question authority. We can question people in power. Now the question to ask ourselves is: "What is ou rmotivation for asking?"

If we are to be honest with ourselves, we will realize that many of our questions are born out of the intention to embarrass, to humiliate, to prove ourselves better than the others.

We must realize that we are not very far from the way of questioning of the the Scribes and Pharisees. Their questions were motivated not by their eagerness to gather information but were more intended to harass.

Today, it is good to ask ourselves: Do we ask because we do not know or do we ask because we want to learn, or do we ask because we want to embarrass other people? Do we ask because we want to build and stimulate or do we ask because we want to destroy? Which is which? Where do you stand from these types of questions?
