First, it is used in the sense of sharing something with someone such as food, money, supplies, encouragement, time, and concern. And second, it is used in the sense of sharing in something with someone, like a project, a success, a failure, a need, a hurt.
The significance of all this is that biblical koinomia is never something done alone. In other words, God's desire for his children is that we be personally and deeply involved in each others lives.
