One of the Greek terms for "tribulation" in the New Testament refers to pressure like being crushed under a big boulder. This is a description of pain, of enduring strain. It's an illustration of the crash of our times. There's a certain kind of pressure that comes with unemployment. There's another kind of pressure that comes with the threat of losing your home. there's a pressure that comes from calamity or wayward child or a runaway mate.
Does God care about the number of hairs in your scalp? Does He care if a sparrow falls? Yes, His words assures He does. Then be assured of this: He's a specialist in the things that worry you down inside. The things you dread tomorrow or this coming week. The things that make you wonder, "How can I get this together?" God's reassurance to you is, "Look, that's what I am specialized in. I can take the situation you've built into a mountain. and I can bore a tunnel through it in matter of seconds. Bring them all to me. Ask me to take charge."
