today is quite a different day for me. Instead of staying inside the cloister and attend the prayers of the day, I went to Sta Fe with Fr Luis and Bro Carlo (our novice oblate) to attend an oral history meeting of the Filipino-American national Historical Society Rio Grande Chapter NM. The meeting was hosted at Nita and Jose Pascual residence in Sta fe. At the meeting, each of us who attended was given some kind of minutes to stand in front of the assembly and share his/her experience as a Filipino-American, or Filipino immigrant, how he came to New Mexico and the like. It was fascinating how each one would share his / her story. A potluck lunch was served-a kind of different pinoy delicacies i.e. bagoong with manggang hilaw, kare-kare, tilapiang pinaputok( its so deliciously prepared), and other native pinoy delicious dishes. As usual, like the last time when we attended the Xmas party at bunny's residence, we were handed packs of foods of differeent kind- very filipino culture...
