the Solemnity of the Epiphany (three Kings) was celebrated at the monastery with the Mass highlighting the Magis involved in the greatest Nativity story... with the absence of Dom caedmon at the monastery, i was tasked to give the Second Reading chanted and sung... it was my very first since i became a monk in year 2002 to sing solo infront of the whole congregation- so far it was rendered correctly, no flat notes or sharp and no mischanted verse. done bravely but with butterflies in my stomach and freezing hands and feet as well.
the guests of the monastery were invited to have cookies with the monks and nuns after the Mass and my kababayan Fatima and her family came over to join in both the Holy Mass and in the 'cookies time with guests'...
fatima is from my province Calabanga Camarines Sur, Bicol and she is now based at Los Alamos NM, an hour and a half drive from her residence to the Monastery. the pictures below show me with her and her husband William kubic Jr and her two daughters:
