God's got our good at heart. After giving, giving, giving so many things, He wants us about forgetting Him. How easy, when blessed, to adopt a presumptuous, arrogant spirit. Indulgence begins an erosion within that leads to indifference, which ultimately results independence. "Who needs God any longer?" It is an attitude often found among the self-sufficient. The secret of keeping that from happening? "You shall fear only the Lord you God and you shall worship Him"
When we maintain a sincere fear of God, something wonderful occurs within. Self made pride and presumption continue to decrease as fear of God increases. I do not mean fright, feeling uneasy and afraid in His presence. the right kind of fear is reverence for His holy name, a wholesome respect for His sovereign will, holding Him in highest regard.
