Much as I love New Year, I don't particularly like the attitude of our kababayans who lights these dangerous firecrackers that can cause harm. It is as if they never really learn a lesson from those who have been hurt. Sigh. We are getting ready just in case our son will have another asthma attack due to the smoke around us.

Celebrating New Year for me is not complete without fireworks. To avoid fire, we remove some dry leaves accumulated on our roof gutter. 30 minutes before the countdown we sprinkle some water to our backyard and roof just to be sure. It's been a custom for us for several years already. :D

Indeed! We were so close to those fires and I wouldn't want to have a rerun of the fires! So PLEASE no fireworks. IT IS SOO DRY HERE!

The wildfires were terrible, causing much damage to properties and families. I'm glad most of my friends living near to the area were not affected.

Yes, everyone please be careful. It doesn't take much to start a fire. My daughter and her family lost everything they owned in a fire in June 2006. Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Just a while ago a house from a neighboring street was burned because of fire crackers, buti na lang no one was hurt.
